Plain-English Summary: We collect only what we need to run Blindly safely. We never sell your personal data. You can delete your account and all data at any time. We use encryption to protect what you share with us.

Information We Collect
We collect information that helps us deliver a safe and meaningful experience on Blindly. This falls into three categories:
Information you provide directly
- Full name, email address, phone number, and date of birth when you register
- Profile photos, bio, interests, and any posts or content you publish on the feed
- Messages, date booking details, and gifts you send to other users
- Identity verification data submitted during the profile verification process
- Payment information processed securely through our payment partners for premium features
- Reports or feedback you submit about other users or content
Information collected automatically
- Device information including model, operating system, and unique device identifiers
- IP address, approximate location (city/region level), and language settings
- App usage data such as screens visited, features used, and session duration
- Crash logs and error reports to help us fix technical issues
- Interaction data including posts viewed, profiles seen, and actions taken in the app
Information from third parties
- Social login data if you choose to sign up using Google or Apple
- Fraud detection signals from trusted security partners

How We Use Your Data
Every piece of data we collect serves a specific, legitimate purpose. We never use your data beyond what is described here.
- Running the app: Creating and managing your account, powering the discovery feed, and enabling date bookings and gifting
- Profile verification: Confirming your identity to maintain a trusted, fake-free community
- Personalisation: Suggesting relevant profiles and content based on your interests and activity
- Safety and moderation: Detecting harassment, fake accounts, underage users, and policy violations
- Communications: Sending match notifications, booking confirmations, and important service updates
- Payments: Processing subscriptions and in-app purchases securely
- Analytics: Understanding how the app is used so we can improve performance and features
- Legal compliance: Meeting obligations under applicable Indian and international law

Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with advertisers for targeting purposes. Full stop.
We share data only in the following limited situations:
- With other users: Your public profile, posts, and the gifting or booking actions you take are visible to other users as intended by the app's core experience
- Service providers: Trusted vendors who help us operate the app — cloud hosting, payment processors, identity verification, and analytics — under strict data processing agreements
- Safety investigations: When there is credible risk of harm to a person, we may share relevant data with law enforcement or safety organisations
- Legal requirements: When required by a valid court order, subpoena, or applicable law in India
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of Blindly, user data may transfer to the new entity under equivalent privacy protections

Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
- All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — we never store plain-text credentials
- Payment data is processed exclusively through PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways — we never store card details on our servers
- Access to personal data within our team is strictly role-based and logged
- We conduct regular security audits and penetration testing
- In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you within 72 hours
No system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong unique password and enable any additional security options we offer in your account settings.

Your Rights
You are in control of your data. Under applicable law and Blindly's commitment to transparency, you have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Update or correct any inaccurate information in your account at any time
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data directly from app settings — we will purge your data within 30 days
- Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Restriction: Ask us to limit how we process your data in certain circumstances
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests, including personalisation
- Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior lawful processing

Section 06
Cookies & Tracking
Our mobile app does not use browser cookies. However, we use similar technologies within the app for the following purposes:
- Session tokens: Securely keeping you logged in between sessions
- Analytics SDKs: Understanding app performance and crash reports (e.g. Firebase, anonymous aggregated data only)
- Push notification tokens: Delivering match alerts and booking confirmations to your device
You can manage notification permissions and data preferences in your device settings and within the Blindly app at any time.
Section 07
Children's Privacy
Blindly is strictly for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age.
During registration, we collect date of birth and may use identity verification to confirm age. If we discover that a user under 18 has created an account, we will immediately suspend the account and delete all associated data. If you believe a minor has registered on Blindly, please contact us immediately at support@blindlyapp.in.
Section 08
Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services and meet legal obligations.
- Active accounts: Data is retained for the duration of your account's active status
- Deleted accounts: Personal data is purged within 30 days of account deletion. Some anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained longer
- Legal holds: If required by law or ongoing investigation, specific data may be retained beyond standard periods
- Backup copies: Encrypted backups are deleted within 90 days of the original data's deletion
- Message data: Chat messages and gifting records are deleted when either party deletes their account
Section 09
Third-Party Services
Blindly integrates a small number of trusted third-party services to operate. Each is bound by a data processing agreement and evaluated for privacy compliance.
- Google Firebase: Authentication, push notifications, and crash analytics
- Razorpay / Stripe: Secure payment processing for subscriptions and in-app purchases
- AWS / Google Cloud: Encrypted cloud infrastructure and media storage
- Identity verification partner: Selfie-based ID check for profile verification badges
Blindly is not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites or services that you may access through links in the app. We encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.
Section 10
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other legitimate operational reasons.
- The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision
- For material changes that affect your rights or how we use your data, we will send an in-app notification and email at least 14 days before the change takes effect
- Your continued use of Blindly after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
- If you do not agree with the changes, you may delete your account before the effective date
